October was a busy month! Not only is this Matt's last semester of school, but he has been traveling all over the country for medical school interviews. Matt had three interviews back east, (Columbia, Boston University, and the University of Connecticut) over fall break, so we decided to make a vacation out of it and I went with him. My sister Amber and her family live in Springfield, Massachusetts, where her husband is a first year emergency medicine resident. While Matt was traveling back and forth from Springfield to his interviews, I was able to spend some much needed time with my sister and our cute nephew and niece, Owen and Abbie. Amber was seriously so awesome! She drove Matt everywhere! Amber took Matt to bus stations, train stations, and even woke up super early to take him directly to his interview at the University of Connecticut. Our week there was so amazing and even though it was super busy, it was so much fun! I loved every second that I was there. That was my first time back east and I can definitely say that I would not mind living there one bit. It was so beautiful and it was such a change from Utah, it also doesn't hurt that my sister and her family live there, they are the best! Here are just a few of the fun things that we did while we were there...



Amber took us to this awesome park that she and the kids go to often. It was so pretty! The park is surrounded by huge trees and there is even a Zoo inside. The kids love it and so did we!

While Matt was busy at UConn, we had the whole day to spend in Farmington, Connecticut. So, my sister and I took the kids to a children museum near the Medical School. There were so many things for the kids to do, it was definitely a fun way to spend the day.






Abbie absolutely loved the turtles! Every time we would pass by the turtle exhibit she would say "tootle" and she would have to look at each one of them.



Owen loved this the most! He was able to build his own lego car and then race it down the track. He was pretty good at it too!







This is Matt in NYC. I was so jealous that I couldn't go with him. He didn't have much time after his interview to explore the city before heading back to Mass, but he was able to check out Times Square.


On our last day there, my brother-in-law Lenny actually had a day off, so they took us to Six Flags New England! The boys had so much fun!





Len and Matt were brave and went on all of the scary rides together. Too bad they both married wussy wives.

Our trip to New England was amazing! I loved being there with my sister and her family. I am going through withdrawls and I can't wait until I am able to go back again. We love you Jensens you guys are the best and we are so thankful for you!

On another note, Matt has already been accepted to two medical schools! Yea! Ohio State University and the University of Connecticut, yeah baby! He is so amazing and I am so proud of him! So who knows, maybe we'll end up back east after all...

Adventures in Babysitting

Wow! We are really good at updating our blog. It's only been...2 months! Things have been pretty dang busy, but life is great. Matt is back in school at the U for his last semester. Yea! We're super excited for the month of October, most of all because we're going to Massachusetts to visit my sister and brother-in-law, Amber and Len, and our cute niece and nephew! Matt received invitations to interview at three med schools back east, and was lucky enough to get all 3 scheduled for the same week in October. So while he's busy with those I'll be hanging out with Amber and her fam.

This weekend we had some great parenting practice! We watched two of our nieces (a 3 year old and a 22 month old) all weekend while my sister Erin and her husband were celebrating their anniversary. What were my favorite parts of this experience? Having a three year old tell me "You need to focus and listen to what I'm telling you," having to wake up every two hours throughout the night to a crying toddler, and learning that being a mom is a lot of hard work! And what did Matt learn from this experience? Baby poo makes him want to throw up. Matt couldn't be in the same room as me while I was changing diapers without starting to gag. It was a definitely a lot of fun, but I have a lot of respect for my sisters and mom.

4th of July

So, we're a little behind on our blog updating, but we thought that we should post some photos from the 4th before pioneer day rolls around. We had an awesome 4th of July weekend, complete with family, friends and fireworks. On Friday we went to the fireworks at Eaglewood Golf Course with our friends the Drakes. The fireworks were great! And the show even included some skydivers. Then on Saturday we had breakfast with my family and spent the rest of the day with Matt's parents. We went and saw The Proposal, which was way funny, and then we went out to dinner. It was a great weekend and we are definitely looking forward to another long weekend coming up. Hopefully we will be a little quicker with our next update!

Camping with the Millers!

This last weekend Matt and I went camping with the Miller fam near Smith and Morehouse Reservoir. Matt went with the rest of his family on Thursday, but I had to work so I met them up there Friday afternoon. We did some fishing, played games, and all in all had a good time! Since Matt had training for a new job on Saturday and Sunday, the plan was for me to come after work on Friday and stay with his family all day Saturday, while he left early Saturday morning. Well, things did not quite turn out as we planned and I think that I must have been bad luck! It rained off and on pretty much from the time that I got there, and while eating dinner, the storm really hit and it started pouring! There wasn't much to do other than get in our tents for cover, so around 9:30, we decided that we might as well pack it up and go home early. We were sad that we couldn't stay as long as we wanted too, but we were both super excited to sleep in our soft, warm, and dry bed! Oh and P.S., the rain stopped and the sky became clear not more than 5 minutes after we left! Maybe I really was bad luck!

By the way, the new job that Matt got is with The Princeton Review as an MCAT instructor. He starts teaching this week and he's super excited!

Welcome to Our Blog!

So, we finally did it! We have officially joined the blogosphere. I have definitely felt out of the loop, and once I found out that my own Mom has a facebook account I knew that I had to get with the now. So here it is! Matt and I recently moved to a cute, little apartment in Bountiful, and when I say little, I mean little. But, we are super excited about our new place, and with the new move we were able to get the internet too. It has been awesome and we can finally feel connected to the outside world. Anyways, we are still trying to learn about this whole blog thing, so there will be pictures of our new place to come. At least for now we are official and we hope that you like it!
